About Manuka Oil

Manuka essential oil is steam-distilled from the leafy branches of Leptospermum scoparium, the hardy tea tree relative that blankets New Zealand hillsides. East Cape manuka is especially sought after, and Maori tradition has long held the plant in high regard.

The aroma is rich and earthy with honeyed, slightly spicy warmth, far deeper and sweeter than Australian tea tree. It grounds a blend the way a wood oil might, pairing well with lavender, citrus, geranium, and other bush and forest notes.
